It's Recyclables Day

37 degrees and clear at 6:00 a.m.

WKTV's Weather Forecast:  "Another unsettled day in the works in Central New York.  Clouds this morning will give way to at least some sunshine this afternoon.  Scattered rain and snow showers.  Highs in the upper 40s.  Partly cloudy skies tonight with patchy frost and lows in the low 30s.

A break of sun early Thursday, followed by another round of rain.  Highs in the mid 50s.

Cooler, but finally drier by Friday."

Although there has been some snow in the air, there hasn't been any accumulation anywhere round Waterville.  I've just been checking some of the area "webcams," and the one at Barnes Corners is the only one that shows snow on the ground.

There are two things to be said in favor of rain:
  • 1.)  I think the farmers will be happy, and
  • 2.)  it's good for growing morels. (A particularly delicious wild mushroom!)

I confess:  yesterday was so dank and dismal that I didn't spend any time at all looking for pictures to show you. Instead, I spent most of the day digging for some history and that, I think, begins much like putting one foot into quicksand!  Before you know it, both feet are mired and you're sinking  deeper and deeper into the search.  But I promise; there will be pictures of something, tomorrow!
