IN THE MAIL

Proud parents Diane and Kevin Bancroft, sister Stephanie and Aunt Gail Prentice travelled to Great Lakes Naval Base, IL to attend Scott Bancroft's graduation from Navy boot camp on March 30th. Scott was promoted twice during boot camp and graduated as an E-3 Seaman. He also received the National Defense Service Ribbon and an additional ribbon for Marksman. He is now in Pensacola, FL attending "A" school for Aircraft Ordnance. (Thanks, Gail, and Congratulations Scott!)

IN THE NEWS

Yesterday was that sort of a day: runners ran for the sheer pleasure of running!

The late afternoon shadows didn't help this photo, but the daffodils really are blooming at the Memorial Bandstand in the Park.

The closer I look, the more shades of pink and lavendar hepaticas I see along the edge of the woods on Fuess-Cleary Road.

Even with binoculars I couldn't see any signs of activity at this group of Great Blue Heron nests built high in hardwoods just barely visible from Shanley Road.

Great thanks to the birder who sent me this link:

(Thank You, Tom!)
