Sunny and bright, but a brisk 27 degrees at 8:00 a.m.

Friday was mostly gray with alternating rain or snow showers.
The display of Adirondack Chairs in front of Morgan's was the only constant bright spot on Main Streeet.

It seems that a great many villagers had been watching buds open on the pink and white magnolia in front of Bert and Art White's home on White Street. Last week the flowers had nearly bloomed in the Springlike temperatures, but Tuesday night's frost has left petals brown and bedraggled.

Grace Episcopal Church

1854 - 2012

If you have read the inside pages of The Waterville Times, you will know by now that, after 158 years, the doors of Grace Episcopal Church will close, forever, following a service at 5:30 P.M. on Saturday, April 7th. To many in the Village and surrounding community, myself included, this is particularly sad news.

Photo: the large Tiffany window was given by Miss Henrietta Page Tower in loving memory of her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Charlemagne Tower in 1897.

I will post more of the church's history later this weekend.
