It's Recyclables Day

66 degrees and clear at 6:00 a.m.

The Weather Forecast from YNN: "Thursday will be breezy, seasonably warm and much less humid with plenty of sunshine.  Highs will be in the low and mid 80s.

Both the heat and humidity are forecast to make a strong comeback Friday with highs in the low 90s. Again, most of Friday should be dry with just an isolated afternoon shower or thunderstorm possible. Very warm temperatures will carry over into Saturday; however, we do expect some relief from the heat for the second half of the weekend and into next week with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees."

Always a summertime treat.
The Lally Memorial Garden at the Waterville Public Library.

There must be six or eight different varieties (or cultivars) of hybridized "day lilies" - called "Hemerocallis" - in bloom.

Two years ago, when John and Cheryl Lincoln-Lovely came to live in "Whiskey Hollow," John had never gardened and knew nothing about plants or how to make them grow.

Obviously, he's learned a few things!

Slow down and take a good, long look - especially at the side-yard orchard - where a variety of thriving fruit trees are interspersed with "stick" sculptures, several cairns, dozens of wind chimes hang waiting for a breeze and strings of tiny"twinkle lights," hung both high and low, glow at night.
