 It's Garbage Day

57 degrees and dry at 5:30 a.m.

WKTV's Weather Forecast:  "Fair weather high pressure will provide us with a continuation of comfortable humidity levels and dry skies through out the course of our Monday with highs in the lower 80s alongside a light northwesterly wind flow.

A weak disturbance will provide us with a chance for a showers across portions of CNY on Tuesday. Otherwise, expect dry weather and summery temperatures through out the course of the week."

From Kevin Ford, this photograph and letter in reply to my query about the very odd cloud formations seen on above Waterville on Saturday morning:

"The clouds in the picture are Undulatus asperatus clouds.  More info on them can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undulatus_asperatushttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undulatus_asperatus They weren't a cloud type that we studied during my 4 years of meteorology classes at SUNY Oswego since they were not an official cloud type (and as far as I know they still are not).  I believe in the US they are found more often out in the Plains.  This is the 2nd time this year that I have seen them here.  The attached picture was taken on March 24th as I left the UC Science Fair with some of my students and their families.  It caused everyone to stop and stare and of course ask me questions about something that I had never seen before."

Thanks very much, Kevin!
