It's Garbage Day

60 degrees and hazy at 7:00 a.m.

WKTV's Weather Forecast: "A large high pressure center situated across the Great Lakes will provide us with a northwesterly flow aloft today. There should be a good deal of sunshine through the day, however, a weak disturbance with a pocket of cool air in the upper levels will get caught in the northwesterly flow, so, a widely isolated PM storm may develop...especially to the north of Utica. Expect highs in the low 80s.

Warm, summery & more humid air will begin to arrive through the course of the week. A new disturbance with its associated front will approach and move through the region Tuesday night with a few storms and showers and a few storms may be leftover for the Fourth of July on Wednesday. It should not be a rain-out though, so it appears there should be NO problems for all the firework displays and Fourth celebrations across CNY.

Summery temperatures with hazy, hot, & humid weather should persist through the end of the week. It looks like the next risk of storms & showers is Saturday."

It's Summer - and it's been HOT -
but that hasn't stopped everyone from working!

On Friday I found Bill Vetter & Co. painting the sunny side of the house at the corner of White Street and Osborn Avenue ........

..... and on Saturday the neighborhood turned out to "help" (supervise) Mark Mowrey make repairs to the second-floor balcony of his home on Sanger Avenue.

Thriving in the sun - corn everywhere.

I wondered if the corn stalks is this field next to Fuess-Cleary Road were going to be "knee high by the Fourth of July" and took a few steps along a row to find out:

make that "waist high by the Fourth of July!"

(There being no one else around who would pose for a picture, I took this shot looking straight down at my leg, knee,  and foot.)
