Is it Winter, yet?

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines "Winter" as: ": the season between autumn and spring comprising in the northern hemisphere usually the months of December, January, and February or as reckoned astronomically extending from the December solstice to the March equinox."

It's 13.5 degrees at 7:00 a.m.

The snow depth on my front porch is 1.75 inches.

Yes: it's cold! But there's barely enough snow to shovel or plow .......

............... and, as it gets light outdoors, I think to myself that "It sure is pretty!"

Here is WKTV's forecast: "A lake effect snow warning continues for Madison and Chenango County.

"A bitterly cold afternoon is in the cards! Temperatures starting out in the teens and falling through the day. Tough most areas only saw a few inches of snow, watch out for slick spots on the roadways this morning and afternoon. Winds will be blustery, creating a sub zero wind chill in the afternoon. Some lake effect snow showers will persist south and west of Utica. Frigid tonight, with overnight lows near or below zero. A return to the twenties in the temperature tomorrow afternoon with some light snow possible late in the day. The chance for light snow again Thursday and Friday."

It's sort of hard to tell, right now, but it looks as if the Snowmobile Trail at Old Forge has been groomed!

I'll let you know what it's like, here in Waterville, later today!

I wonder: what would it take to put a webcam on the roof of Access or the Village Diner?
