Happy May Day!

It's Trash Collection Day

49 degrees and wet but not raining at 6:00 a.m.

From WKTV: "Rain this morning will taper off to drizzle.  Mainly cloudy skies today with some breaks of sunshine late.  Highs near 60.  Partly cloudy tonight with overnight lows near 40.

A push of warm air arrives tomorrow.  Partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 70s.  Very mild on Thursday with an isolated thunderstorm possible.  Noticeably more humid.  Highs in the upper 70s.

A round of thunderstorms possible on Friday, potentially on the stronger side.  Highs near 80.  Somewhat cooler weather returns for the weekend."

Yesterday's Ride-around

I only took one picture because, at the time I was driving, it was dark and drizzly.  But there she was: "Mother Goose," sitting on her weedy nest in the pond next to Madison Street just a bit west of Jack Prior's.

Ryan Farber
BENEFIT SATURDAY, MAY 26
From Bridgett Welsh, asking me to post a link to a blog that has been set up for her nephew, Ryan Farber, a 2008 graduate of WCS and whose mother is Tammy Falin:
"Ryan was recently diagnosed with a Grade II Astrocytoma on his brain stem.  Our family is putting together a benefit for him, but more than anything he needs prayers and encouragement.  A lot of people don't have a facebook page, so we started the blog for them to leave comments or receive updates."  (Click the photo of Ryan to reach the blog!)

I had company, yesterday morning, and one of the ladies asked what I knew about "Straw Bale Gardening."  (Nothing!)  But that sent us off to "Google" to learn about it and now I wonder if any of you have ever used that method?  Click here.   Sounds interesting!

Have a great day, everyone, and enjoy the GREEN!
