"A Muppet Christmas - Letters to Santa"

YESTERDAY

I was on my way to New Hartford fairly early yesterday morning when, north of Paris green and just beyond where Fountain Street joins Route 12,  I saw the first treat of the day:

Hundreds of Snow Geese!

Later in the morning I took the Clinton / Deansboro route back to Waterville. No more geese - just SNOW - but there was another fine sight:

The nativity scene next to Route 12B south of Deansboro that was designed years ago by the late Nancy Eastman.

Back in the Village, Christmas at the Clydesdales'!

(I think their names are Joey and Zeke, and they are owned by the Pumilias of Tower Street.)

Wild Grapes.

A month or more ago several of us mentioned that there hadn't been any wild grapes, this year. Suddenly, yesterday, I saw this vine on an old barn on Sally Road.

Not enough for jam, I'm afraid.

Oh, yes!

- about the Masons' Christmas Trees in the Park:

If you need to pick your tree up at a time when there are no Masons on site, you can take your tree and leave the $30 payment at Bill Getman's law office on East Main Street (next to The Waterville Times) or at Ken Paulson's Garage on Conger Avenue.

AND, before I hit "publish' ...

remember

It was on December 7, 1941, that Japanese planes attacked the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Territory, killing more than 2,300 Americans. The U.S.S. Arizona was completely destroyed and the U.S.S. Oklahoma capsized.
