It's Garbage Day
32.5 degrees at 5:15 a.m.
The Weather Forecast from YNN: "Pleasant Thursday and Friday. Saturday looks Best This Weekend
Scattered flurries and light showers will gradually end tonight and give way to partly cloudy skies with temperatures settling in the upper 20s to near 30. Thursday will be pleasant with ample sun and highs in the low to mid 40s. Friday looks similar with a good deal of sun and highs again in the 40s.
Increasing clouds are expected for Saturday along with slightly cooler temperatures. The risk for a spotty light shower will develop after noon, but most of the day and most areas will stay dry. Showers are expected on and off later Saturday and Sunday, and may begin as a little wintry mix.
Monday looks mainly dry while a potential coastal low may produce widespread wet snow on Tuesday. We will be watching this closely and updating you as we get closer."

☼ Yesterday ☼
It could have been a Spring day and the view west from the top of Grant Hill was grand.
The sun shone warm and bright on the lawn behind this Nativity Scene on California Road.
I needed to go to New Hartford in the morning, and came home by way of Deansboro, where the sun was shining on the SWISS Flag at Chris Eisenhut's "Kountry Kafe."
(I thought it might be appropriate to point out that this is a national flag and that Chris is NOT operating an American Red Cross Blood Bank! Their logo is red on white.)
What doesn't show in the first picture is the construction of the new Gasoline "island" being built right next to the Kafe by Buell Fuels.
Didn't there used to be a gas station on the corner where the new Deansboro Post Office is located? And was it run by Worthy Lintz?

Heading south and turning onto Burnham Road from Route 12B, I couldn't miss seeing the wreath on the big red barn behind the Penders' home.
This is only part of the Schenks' home on Route 315 and here are just a few of the many windows that all have matching wreaths.

► Back in the Village ◀
I was really looking for more Christmas decorations, but saw nearly as many people out enjoying the nice day as I saw Christmasy things.
I was just overtaking runners Michelle Waufle and Mary Beth Erlichmann on Doolittle Avenue when I saw "Maggie" leading Karen and Lou Langone on their afternoon walk ......
....... heading toward White Street.
On East Bacon Street I found more doorway decorations.
This is the front door at the home of Mr. Erwin Browne and Mrs. Mizener.
On Osborn Avenue, at the Salatas ....
... and at Mr. and Mrs. Snow's home, across the street.
In the Park - the number of trees in the Sanger Lodge Christmas Tree Sale has dwindled from 250 down to around 50!

I think that I listed the rest of the weekend activities for you yesterday, so just scroll down to refresh your memory.
Blog readers enjoyed the YouTube "Flash Mob" performance that I linked to.
Here's another: The "Hallelujah Chorus" is a "natural" for this sort of event, but the venue for this performance is anything but! (Click HERE to enjoy!)
