The WKTV Weather Forecast: "Some changes in the weather to start out the work week. A cold front swinging in from the west will bring clouds, showers, and even a thunderstorm or two to the area later this afternoon. Increasing clouds and turning humid with highs in the upper 70s.
Showers and thunderstorms linger through the overnight with temperatures bottoming out in the 60s.
Sunshine, cooler, and breezy weather takes hold tomorrow with highs in the mid 70s. High pressure builds in for the remainder of the week. Eventually, a warmup is expected again by Thursday and Friday.
We're continuing to follow Isaac as it heads into the Gulf of Mexico. At this point, it doesn't look to affect our weather until late Sunday or Monday. By that point, only some showers and thunderstorms will be possible, not the widespread flooding rainfall seen with last year's Irene."

From Leslie Olivera-VanWormer:
a vacation view of "Isaac" visiting Dania Beach in Florida!

Here & There, Closer to Home.
I arrived at the Library just a few minutes before noon, on Saturday. Lots of groups of parents and their children from all parts of the village were heading in that direction for the Summer Carnival and one little girl had already discovered the slide.
I'm sure that the Library staff will be posting photos, later on today, and I'll either "swipe" some or give you a link.

Yesterday I spotted a new sign in the Park.
"Cruisin into Waterville" will take place on September 15.
You'll find a complete schedule, maps, and more at their website; HERE.
This week's Concert in the Park features
Mike Hoke and Irish Music.
There are several "fix-it" jobs in progress throughout the Village. Someone was touching up the paint at La Petite Maison on East Main Street, yesterday.
This large "contraption" is parked right next to the huge bean field that nearly surrounds the Library. I'm not sure, but I think it must be a bean picker. It's a sign of the season, for sure.
Mid-way between Solsville and Oriskany Falls, I stopped to look at the millpond at Lyon's Mills. What was left of the old dam sprang a leak, last Spring, and now the pond is barely half the size it used to be.

Have a great day!
I received this letter from Chris and Chantal Gagnon in Oriskany Falls:
"During the night someone dropped off a rooster in our yard! You can imagine our surprise when we all woke up bright and early to the traditional rooster call!
After some confusion and angry neighbors calling us, asking why we got a rooster we went looking and found the little guy hiding in our blackberry bush.
We caught him and he is in a cage right now in our yard. But we can't keep him. We certainly don't want to see him harmed, either. He looks like he has been in some fights.
We put a call into Spring hill farms in Clinton but we are not sure they will take him, and it being the weekend they wont return our calls till Monday probably.
So I am hoping you can maybe help us a bit and see if anyone would like him, to give a good home."
I've asked for a contact phone number or Email - in the meantime, if you want to reach the Gagnons, please send me an E-note and I'll write to them to contact you!
