It's Garbage Day

and 53 degrees at 6:15

The Weather Forecast fromWKYTV: "Summer conditions continue today with sunshine and highs in the low to mid 80s.  Clear skies tonight with lows in the 50s.
A weak cold front arrives later Friday, bringing us the chance for showers and a thunderstorm.  Much cooler for the weekend and dry with highs in the upper 60s.  An unsettled pattern shapes up for the middle of next week."

It looks as if SATURDAY will be perfect!

IN THE MAIL

To Hank Gardner:  You can rest easy, Hank - according to Glen Carroll, who travels to Bavaria quite often, "No doubt about it: Hops are alive and well in Deutchland!"

And from John Ogden, this link showing a chart of world hop production.  (Very interesting!)

Here & There

Yesterday was a total loss, for me: I had a mid-morning appointment for an annual Eye checkup (you know, the kind where they put "drops" in your eyes? AND where everything's running at least an hour late?)

I didn't get rid of the "bug-eye" effect 'til late in the afternoon.

Then, I set out to see if there were any signs of Cruisin preparedness. The side lawn of the Library has been mown, and is all ready for the big tent to appear.

I couldn't help but notice that the field where green beans were harvested just a week or so ago has been tilled and, perhaps, re-planted - maybe with Winter Rye?

No sign of activity on Firemen's Field, but the new display outside of Merri-Rose Florist couldn't be prettier!

Gerda has a special display, too.

On Sanger Avenue, Scott Legacy was back at work....

........... and on Berrill Avenue, heading towards Hanover, Rita Mack has done some more painting on the "carriage house" and is getting to the really interesting part!
(I wonder if she is as excited as I am?)

In a field next to Fuess-Cleary Road, a farmer was "making hay while the sun shines."

Beautiful golden soy......

.... and clear blue sky, looking northward from Grant Hill.

Have a great day, everyone.

I'll no doubt find more things to take pictures of later today and tomorrow!
