87 degrees at 4:30 yesterday afternoon.

If it's true that "a picture is worth a thousand words," there's no need for me to describe the rest of these photographs!

I pulled off the road just to see if there was anything different at the little pond just beyond Jack Prior's, and scared up a Great Blue Heron - "on take-off," right in the center of this shot.

What was even more interesting wasn't what I SAW, but what I HEARD: "Peepers!" Tiny little frogs, but there must have been a chorus of hundreds!

Click HERE if you'd like to know what they sounded like.

IN MY MORNING EMAIL

"The Kountry Kafe in Deansboro would like to welcome Chef Dan Rice who will be cooking some great dinner specials every Wednesday night and Thursday lunches. Last week his specialty was a stuffed pork loin with a cranberry stuffing, mashed potatoes and fresh veg, and also a Southern Special Chicken Fried Steak with a white cream gravy. Wednesday night Dinner is served from 4pm to 8pm.
Thursdays his lunch special is Pulled Pork served with his own Carolina sauce along with a huge serving of Potato Salad."

I know: I have a self-imposed rule against giving "free advertising" to businesses, but it's my rule, and now and then it just feels good to break it, especially when I know that folks are interested!

Did you know that you can check the Village Diner's daily specials and also peruse the menus of The Huddle on Main and Michael's Fine Food & Spirits, online?

FOR THE RECORD

Have a good day, everybody!

Don't forget to check your Hop Vines, and please remember to keep an eye out for "Christopher Robin," the gray and white cat who has run away from his home on Saw Mill Road!
